A Bit About Me
Hi, I'm Chrissy Russell—a passionate marketing strategist, creative thinker, and proud veteran with a heart for helping small businesses grow. With over a decade of experience in marketing, branding, and community engagement, I founded Get Creative to provide hands-on, high-impact support to local entrepreneurs who want to stand out online.
My career began in corporate and small business environments, where I managed everything from campaign strategy to social media engagement, reputation management, and customer experience. Along the way, I discovered that what I love most is helping people tell their story, build loyal audiences, and turn everyday interactions into long-term growth.
As a certified personal trainer, military leader, and small business owner, I bring a unique mix of structure, empathy, and creativity to everything I do. I’ve worked with businesses across HVAC, wellness, beauty, e-commerce, and service-based industries—always tailoring solutions to their goals, not just the trends.

August 2017 - November 2025
September 2010 - July 2017
Iris & Palm Co.
Founder & Creative Director | 2023–Present

I launched Iris & Palm Co. to bring my passion for plants, design, and community together under one roof—literally. This retail and e-commerce concept blends my love for indoor greenery with my background in branding and business development.
At Iris & Palm Co., I oversee everything from product sourcing and inventory management to marketing strategy, customer experience, and community events. I work hands-on with everything from designing custom soil blends and packaging to managing the website, running pop-ups, and engaging with customers both online and in-store.
More than just a plant shop, Iris & Palm Co. is a space rooted in connection, creativity, and growth—serving as a physical representation of my belief that small businesses can thrive when they are authentic, intentional, and community-driven.
More recently, I expanded my entrepreneurial journey by launching Get Creative, a boutique marketing agency focused on helping small businesses grow their digital presence through social media management, branding, and strategic content creation.
Together, Iris & Palm Co. and Get Creative allow me to blend strategy with soul—supporting both my own business and others who are chasing big dreams from small towns.

Best Plumbing, Heating & Cooling
Marketing & Operations Manager | 2017–2025

I joined Best PHC as a Customer Service Representative, handling inbound calls, invoicing, and customer concerns. As the company expanded, so did my role. I moved into dispatching and technician scheduling, eventually stepping into management responsibilities across operations and employee support.
I later transitioned into a dedicated marketing role, where I led the company’s social media strategy using platforms like Hootsuite, collaborated with local radio stations and newspapers for community outreach, and helped grow the brand’s reputation across the Nebraska Panhandle.
Beyond marketing, I created and managed the company’s employee morale and engagement programs, including:
-
A monthly “Feed the Crew Friday” lunch event
-
A company-wide newsletter
-
Employee recognition initiatives
-
Professional development sessions like budgeting classes
-
Nomination submissions for local business awards
This role taught me the power of community connection, internal culture, and multi-channel brand presence—all of which I carry forward into my work at Get Creative.
Cabela’s World Headquarters
Administrative Assistant – Catalog Department | 2010–2017

My professional journey began at Cabela’s World Headquarters, where I supported three product teams within the Catalog Department. This role gave me a strong foundation in customer relations, data organization, and team coordination. I assisted with product purchasing and pricing for national catalogs, scheduled travel and meetings for department leads, and managed high volumes of administrative tasks with precision and confidentiality.
This experience sharpened my skills in communication, detail management, and cross-team collaboration, skills I still rely on today in both marketing and business operations.

Currently pursuing my MBA with a specialization in Marketing, further expanding my knowledge in strategic branding, digital campaigns, and business leadership.

Military Career
December 2021 - Present
Wyoming Army National Guard
Sergeant (E5) – 2016 to Present
As a proud member of the Wyoming Army National Guard, I’ve served in both stateside and overseas operations, including Operation Spartan Shield. My time in uniform has shaped who I am—instilling in me a deep sense of discipline, resilience, and mission-focused leadership that I carry into every project and business I lead.
Over the years, I’ve taken on various roles that required me to adapt quickly, problem-solve under pressure, and lead with integrity. I was recently promoted to Sergeant (E5) and selected for advancement to E6, which reflects not only my professional commitment but also my ability to mentor and guide others.
Balancing military service with entrepreneurship has given me a unique lens on leadership, accountability, and the importance of community service—values that are woven into both Get Creative and Iris & Palm Co.
